The Psychosocial Health and Safety of Australian Home Care Workers
註釋This report investigates psychosocial risk and job stress among home-care workers providing paid care to older people and people with disability in New South Wales. Interviews were conducted with 49 home care workers, 10 sector stakeholders, and 31 employers to examine the key underlying issues and specific activities causing psychosocial risk, current prevention and intervention measures, and how the prevention of work-related psychosocial stressors can best be managed into the future. The context of a shift in policy to consumer directed care is also considered. The findings offer a compelling case for organisations to set in place supportive and sound organisational practices that ensure both worker wellbeing, and the financial security of providers in the sector.
