註釋
This report analyses the position and status of Ghanaian women under the law. The Ghanaian legal system includes a number of laws passed by the colonial legislature, which remain on the statute books, laws passed since independence, and legal rights granted under the three constitutions Ghana has had so far. Women are also affected by different systems of customary law operating in various regions, and the rights, disabilities and duties of women under these laws are considered. Extra-legal mechanisms which operate either to enhance or impede the greater participation of women in the economic, political and social life of Ghana are also investigated
