註釋
From the Introduction: This report examines the relationship between security, stability and business in Asia Pacific and the associated implications for Canadian interests in the region. While APEC, as an organization, specifically excludes security relations from its areas of concern, the assumption of peace and stability must underlie APEC's efforts to develop trade, investment and technical operations....The major security factors to take into consideration when doing business in Asia fall into two general categories: those affecting domestic stability and those affecting regional stability....In general, the report sets out to be a "primer" on security-related matters for Canadians doing business in Asia Pacific. It aims to give a general sense of the regional security situation and current crises; and to offer more specific ideas about "on-the-ground" implications for business arising from political/security factors, as opposed to strictly "economic" considerations.
