註釋Readers and students concerned about allegations that past Australian governments removed Aboriginal children from their parents in order to eliminate their culture had no proper guide to what the archival facts revealed until Keith Windschuttle's highly critical history of the Stolen Generations came along. Author and journalist Tony Thomas felt that this huge, forensically detailed work needed a more publicly accessible version. So he rewrote it in thirteen no-frills chapters, each the length of a newspaper feature article, for this pocket edition. Tony Thomas MA B Ec was a journalist for 45 years. He spent a decade in the Canberra Press Gallery as Economics Writer for The Age, and 20 years with BRW Magazine. His publications include TARURU -- Aboriginal Song Poetry of the Pilbara, with linguist Dr C.G. von Brandenstein (1974).
