The department established a regional, rural and remote education policy unit in 2021 to support delivery of the strategy and its vision. The objective of this audit was to assess the effectiveness of the department's activities to ensure that regional, rural and remote students have access to the same quality of early childhood, school education, and skills pathways as their metropolitan peers.
