The Denman family originated in America with John Denman who came to Boston in 1635 from England. In the 17th and 18th centuries. One group of Denmans lived in Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. Later generations of these northern families moved west into Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and then into Nebraska and California. A second group of Denmans lived in Virginia and North and South Carolina and spread west into Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. Includes genealogical information about both Denman families.
