They were among the early pioneers of the Irish linen and yarn trades. In the middle of the 19th century, a number of the family emigrated to America and Australia. This book tells of the family that went to Australia. It also tells the history of the mining town of Creswick, Victoria where they settled. The Lindsay family has a definite place in the artistic and intellectual history of Australia. Descendants still live in Australia.
