Part 2 sets out the principles, objectives, and goals of the Dept. in its freshwater activities. The final part presents and discusses major freshwater issues and future directions for the Dept. related to such matters as recreational fisheries, watershed management, fish marketing, pest control, habitat management, navigable waters protection, boating safety, harbours, research, and trans-boundary initiatives. The appendix lists federal freshwater legislation and agreements along with their relevance to freshwater.
