A Very Busy Day in the Garden
註釋"A Very Busy Day In The Garden" is the first in the series written to inspire children to use their powers of observation for what is going on in their environment. It has appeal from an educator's point of view in the school market for the following reasons: 1) the text is written in rhyme to build vocabulary skills; 2) it is nonfiction and can be used in the area of early science; 3) the clocks in the book can be used for early math skills for telling time (each clock page is one hour later starting at 5am and ending at 8pm); 4) it helps to inspire children's awareness by using their powers of observation and thereby stimulate them to want to see what is going on in their own back yard and in the world of nature instead of playing video games or being glued to the television the moment they come home from school. There may be many nonfiction books on the market about wildlife and nature, but very few are illustrated with actual photos, written in rhyme form, adventure driven with the intent to build vocabulary, math skills and soft science.
