註釋The Hovenden family originally from England. George Hovenden (1784-1860), the immigrant ancestor, lived in Borden, County Kent, England, and died in Trivoli Township, Peoria Co., Illinois. He was married to Mary Hephzibah Saxby (1790-1846) in 1812. They were parents of fourteen children. Most of these children also immigrated to America and settled in Illinois, Nebraska, Oregon and California. Ancestry is traced to England ca. 1362.
