La vie tumultueuse d'Ilya Ehrenbourg
註釋On pp. 79-82 mentions the pogrom in Kiev in 1919, during the Civil War, and Ehrenburg's reactions. Relates, on pp. 244-262, Ehrenburg's involvement with the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, the compilation of the "Black Book" (together with Vasilii Grossman) on Nazi atrocities against the Jewish population, and his articles on the Nazi massacres in the Ukraine and Belarus. On pp. 274-284 and 296-300, discusses his ambivalent attitude during Stalin's antisemitic and anti-Israel campaign in the early 1950s, noting, however, his refusal to sign a letter in February 1953, initiated by Stalin, demanding the mass deportation of the Jews.
