註釋Maysel Pool (the author's mother) was born in 1888 in Marne, Michigan to Asa LeVant Pool (1862-1931) and Harriet Sarah Goodale (1865-1957). The Pool line is traced back to William Pool (1830/1-1867) of England and Michigan. William married Mary Jane Garfield (1836-1868). The immigrant ancestor on the Garfield line is Edward Garfield who is believed to have been born in Ashby, England in 1575 and immigrated to America in 1630. The Goodale line is traced back to William Goodale (b. ca. 1791) of Norfolk County, England and his wife, Sarah Baxter (b. ca. 1791).
