This report presents and discusses findings of a survey of 2,400 producers of field crops, beef cattle, hogs, or horticultural crops. The study examined risk concerns, producer use of government safety net programs & private risk management tools, and the producers' farm financial situation. The following programs & tools were studied: the Net Income Stabilization Account, the Agricultural Income Disaster Assistance program, crop insurance, the Advance Payments program, provincial programs, and private tools to manage price & production risk. The appendix contains a tabulation of the survey results by province and a copy of the survey questionnaire.
