Critical City is a debate book that, through essays, pictures and interviews with leading architects and urban scientists, discusses the Danish welfare city in 2019. The larger Danish cities have experienced a historical growth in the number of inhabitants. Port areas have turned into new blue parks, bike paths and recreational activities appearing everywhere in the city's space. At the same time, house prices have risen so much that fewer and fewer are able to find a place to live. It has great consequences for many people, and fundamentally challenges our notion of the city as a place where all social strata can find a place to be.
