Tacit Knowledge Transfer Via Interlocking Directorates [microform] : a Geographical Approach
註釋The second objective is to assess spatial changes to knowledge transfer of the Canadian and American corporate networks from 1976 to 1996. Using network analysis it was found that the corporate knowledge networks in both countries have become less dense over time. However, they are dissimilar in that the American network is decentralizing to account for a greater number of cities while the Canadian network continues to be centralized in Toronto. Consequently, the Canadian network can be explained by a hierarchical structure with geography playing a less significant role. A hierarchical structure does exist in the United States as well with the peak cities being New York and Chicago. But, over the twenty-year study period, a number of regional centers have emerged to play a larger role over time.
