This analysis identifies the milk movement patterns and the number, size and location of hard dairy product manufacturing plants which minimize the aggregate costs of assembling all Grade A milk produced in the southeastern U.S. including milk for fluid consumption, and processing into a manufactured product form the milk produced but not used for fluid bottling. the research problem was formulated as a linear programming problem and the transportation algorithm used to obtain the solutions.
