Evaluation of a Nonformal Environmental Education Program for First and Second Grade Children at the State Arboretum of Virginia
註釋This study examined changes in environmental literacy of six classes of first and second grade students (N=120) from four school districts participating in the "Let's Sprout" program at the State Arboretum of Virginia at Blandy Experimental Farm. The study also examined the usefulness of the evaluation instruments developed by the researcher. There were significant but small increases in content-based knowledge scores and attitude scores for participating students. Community setting and timing of the program had significant effects on scores, but pretesting did not. The study provided an evaluation process applicable to other nonformal programs for young children
