註釋
The 2006 Edith Dominian Memorial Lecture examines the wellbeing of unmarried parents and their children. Sara McLanahan and Irwin Garfinkel present findings from the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study, which is a longitudinal study following unmarried mothers in America. The presenters discuss the development of the Study, unmarried and single motherhood in the United States, and findings from the Study on risk factors, maternal wellbeing, domestic violence, relationship breakdown, relationship stability, child health and behaviour, and the contributions of fathers. The Lecture is followed by a discussion of unmarried parenthood in the United Kingdom, by Kathleen Kiernan, which draws on findings from the Millennium Cohort Study. A transcript of the general discussion after the lecture is also included.
