Nicolas-Antoine Taunay no Brasil
註釋First time individual exhibition on artist Nicolas-Antoine Taunay (b. France 1755-1830) presenting his paintings produced in Brazil, the paintings done before his arrival in the Americas, (French and Italian landscapes of the Napoleonic war) and the paintings produced in France after his return in 1821. The highlights of the exhibition are the paintings Taunay did in the "Cascatinha Taunay", his coffee plantation house in Tijuca where he had slaves and portrayed the local nobility. The exhibition recognizes this master miniaturist who documented 19th century Brazil during kings D. Joao and D. Pedro, elevating Brazil's urban and natural tropical landscape to national and international recognition
