Letter of recommendation on behalf of Francisco de Montemayor y Mancilla
註釋Letter of recommendation, dated June 9, 1665 in Manila, and signed by Fray Pedro Baptista, examiner of the Inquisition and provincial of the Discalced Franciscans, and Fray Juan de Jérez, professor of theology and guardian of the Franciscan convent in Manila, on behalf of Licenciado Francisco de Montemayor y Mancilla, oidor in the Audiencia of Manila. The Franciscan friars certify before clerk Nicolás de Herrera that Montemayor is a wise and honorable person, a learned judge who prudently and impartially handles the matters brought before him. He takes his responsibilities in the court very seriously, and carries out his duties promptly and judiciously. Montemayor is a gentle and pleasant man of modest behavior, who makes himself easily available to others, and is well-liked by all. Countersignatures verifying Herrera's authority are dated June 11, 1665.
