Are Northern Practices for Supporting Entrepreneurs Transferable to the South?
註釋Major efforts were made over the last decades by international organisations and national governments of developing countries to promote entrepreneurship. In most cases, those programs are based on the experience of developing countries like North American ones, a questionable approach in terms of transferability. This question has been explored through a case study of a Canadian non-governmental organisation (NGO) which supports entrepreneurs in South Africa. The analysis shows that the transposition of an entrepreneurial support model developed in the North to the South has significant limitations because of the country's specificities. It becomes apparent that adaptations are necessary in order to ensure the adequacy in the particular context of the targeted country. The research allowed the identification of several adaptation strategies, which are discussed and integrated in a global model.--Résumé de l'éditeur.
