註釋This document examines the current condition of Quebec's aboriginal people, their relations with other Quebecers and with the Quebec government, and Quebec's initiatives with respect to aboriginal affairs. It is the basis for discussions at four regional symposiums where aboriginal people and representatives from various parts of Quebec will meet during the fall of 1991. It begins with an overview of the demography, social conditions, culture, economy, and political structure of Quebec's aboriginal peoples, followed by a description of the stages which have marked relations between the Quebec government and aboriginal people over the last thirty years.
