This is the fifth impression of the author's 'Selected Poems' and contains an entirely new, book-length collection 'Lineations'. Also included is the volume 'Certain Things', which won the Victorian Premier's Prize for poetry in 1994. A number of poems previously in this selection have now been significantly revised, and four important poems have been added. This volume is highlighted by the poet's use of vivid visual imagery, and his free verse rhythms. There are also poems written in traditional forms. The poet has been the recipient of several awards for poetry and has co-edited two anthologies. He is also the editor of 'Selected Poems' by Shaw Neilson, and in 1990 received the Patrick White Award.
