註釋
The two principal aims of this book are to serve as an introduction for eye physicians in training and also provide a practical, handy reference for comprehensive eye physicians, already in practice, to the field of diseases of the vitreous and retina. To accomplish these aims the book was written in an accessible style with lots of how-toinformation. The book begins with an overview of anatomy and physiology and then progresses to ocular imaging. The modes and complexity of measuring and quantifying structure and function of the retina is almost unparalleled in other branches of medicine. Application of these imaging modalities is an important step in making the properdiagnosis. The next portion of the book covers medical diseases of the retina and vitreous and how these conditions may be altered with judicious medical and laser therapy. The final portion of the book illustrates surgical treatment of diseases of the vitreous and retina. Each chapter is written in a cohesive, integrated style that addresses the needs of ophthalmology residents, beginning retinal fellows, the majority of practising comprehensive ophthalmologists and optometrists. The book has a straightforward, practical, common-sense approach to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the vitreous, retina, and choroid in a way that is easy to understand without being simplistic.
