註釋This collection of short prose pieces and poems lures the reader into an intricate jungle of language where imaginary landscape settings and events are infused with abstract concepts and vivid visual images. Many of the pieces are written in a descriptive style that depicts occurrences that cannot exist literally in the way they are presented, combining the physical world and the world of ideas into a single 'unreality' where they intermingle freely and are made more surreal through the application of incongruous and colourful descriptors. Other pieces are presented in a more succinct free verse format; these have clear themes while still being imbued with fantastic elements. The writing throughout is disciplined, thought provoking and mystical in its exploration of language. It is unlikely you will read anything else quite like it.
