註釋Abstract: The topic of improving the nutrition of infants and children was discussed at an interdisciplinary conference of nutritionists, pediatricians, and food technologists. Nutrient requirements for normal growth and development and the relation of nutrition to physical and mental development were discussed. Consequences of overfeeding, the effect of infection on nutritional status, metabolic defects and their dietary treatment, supplementary feeding, and school feeding programs in Japan and Europe are also covered.
