Wrapped in the Wind's Shawl
註釋This book provides a description of the situation, in early 1980, of Indo-Chinese refugees in South East Asia. The authors' accounts of their visits to first-asylum countries, mainly Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong, are complemented by a historical analysis of the main events that led to the mass exodus. In addition to the camps and host government policies, there are descriptions of the exodus itself, including personal accounts by the refugees, mostly the boat people. The book concludes with a review of the world refugee problem and international assistance programmes during the period 1917-80. There are also appendices on US Government policy, UNHCR's budgets, US resettlement statistics, and resettlement agencies. The text is supplemented with numerous photographs.
