The Fallen Dove
註釋In the early Fourth Century A. D. a solitary Christian hermit named Abraham of Kiduna was satisfied with his life and calling. He thought his routine of prayer, fasting, and work would continue to the end of his life with few or no changes. Then friends brought word his younger brother had died and left him their father's wealthy estate. They also brought to his crude house a small five year old child. His brother Isaac had stipulated in his will that his older brother should raise his only child, Mary (Miriam). Against his inclinations Abraham honored his brother's memory by accepting this unusual request. And after that everything changed; and not all for the better.
