註釋Consists of a manuscript diary of Thomas Rodney of a journey from Delaware to New York and back by carriage, June 1 to June 14, 1790. Rodney describes his travels through Pennsylvania and New Jersey until he arrives in New York. He gives an account of the cities and towns through which he traveled, people that he met, and gives details of the "taverns" he stayed at and their cost, distances in miles between locations, and the price of items which he purchased. The manuscript is written on paper, in black ink. On p. 1 of wrapper is a holograph note: "Papa's journey in 1790 to New York"; and on p. 4 of wrapper there is a hand-drawn map. Included is a typescript of the diary, which is lacking the entry for June 11; also included is a holograph note authenticating the ownership of the journal.
