Load Tests of a Severely Curved Steel I-girder Bridge
註釋The North Broadway bridge in Ossining is a curved steel I-girder bridge with a small radius of curvature beyond the range covered by current AASHTO codes. A series of load tests were performed during and after its construction to find structural responses of various members to loads, and to examine the validity of its design assumptions and predictions. Measured structural responses to dead loads and applied dynamic live loads show that stresses due to these loads are low, including the maximum stresses of 7.5 ksi (51.75 MPa) due to dead loads and 1.7 ksi (11.73 MPa) due to test-truck loads.
