The Clothes-prop Man
註釋The Clothes-prop Man celebrates the lives of the men and women at the work camps during the building of South Australia's South Para Reservoir between 1948 and 1958. Johnson's poems capture the colour and character of country-town living at nearby Williamstown in the early 1960s and the post-war mood of immigrant workers, tough living, six-o'clock closing and wireless sets. This book has a philosophical tone that rings through time. It is Johnson's fifth book.
