A highly specialized blind carabid beetle, Orotrechus slapniki sp.n., is described from the cave Kamniška Jama (cave Register No. 209), located in the Zeleniške Špice rugged ridge, in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps in Slovenija (UTM: VM73). This species belongs to the O. lucensis group (Daffner, 1990), with closest resemblance to O. lucensis Scheibel, 1935.
