Roddy Johnstone
註釋Roddy Johnstone came home to Scotland after serving his country in the Great War. He helped his father run their basement brewery, where Roddy made two of his own beers, Roddy's Wee Heavy & Roddy's Light Beer. Being ambitious, Roddy decided to take his beers to Glasgow to try to interest the large breweries in his recipes. Roddy never came home. His father followed him to Glasgow and found out that Roddy had been in a fight and hit his head. He had been taken to a ship to be attended to and the ship had sailed with him still on board. The ship was bound for Boston. Roddy has lost his memory and when he gets to Boston he gets off the ship and tries to make a new life, hopefully only until he gets his memory back.In the current day, Walter dies. Walter is Roddy's nephew. Rob and Jane believe that they will inherit everything their father, Walter, has. That is what is in the will, after all. But they find although he has left them about £40,000 he has not left them the house. That is because the house is in the name of Roddy Johnstone.I am Roddy Johnstone. The other Roddy Johnstone was my father. I am not the Roddy who owns the house but that does not stop Rob and Jane from thinking it is mine and trying to kill me. Thankfully they don't succeed. I am traced by an heir hunter and invited to see a solicitor in Annan. I am told that there is no record of Roddy's, my grandfather, death anywhere in the world. I need to try to find out what happened to him, so that I can inherit the house as his heir. I am guided towards America to try to trace his footsteps, albeit it is now the best part of a hundred years since Roddy arrived there. This book tells my story and his.
