Letters from Alexander Young, of Middlebury, Vermont, to Robert B. Bates date from January 27-February 10, 1829, and concern the non-payment of a debt owed by Daniel Chipman to Young. Young is asking Bates to supply him with the names of people who claim that they believe that Chipman did, indeed, pay the debt owed.
