Helicopter Seeding Technique Used at Katlian Bay and Nakwasina Sound, 1960
註釋Aerial seeding by helicopter is a new forest management tool in Region 10. There are few forest officers in the region experienced in seeding techniques. So far, most of the technical knowledge for performing a seeding job to the specifications of the forest officer has been supplied by the operator contracted for the job. We have been fortunate in obtaining an operator with experience and intergrity to perform our aerial seeding. To date all of the aerial seeding in the region has been done by Mr. Joe Soloy of Temsco Copters, Inc. of Ketchikan. The following observations were made during helicopter aerial seeding of four cutover blocks near Katlian Bay and Nakwasina Sound, on October 27 and 28, 1960. Most of the observations on the mechanics of aerial seeding were obtained verbally from Mr. Soloy. The object of this report is to record what was done and to make some observations on general technique, as a guide for future seeding programs.
