A Microfluidic Device for Hendra Virus Detection Using Quantum Dots as Fluorescence Labels
註釋The aim of this work is to develop a biosensor to detect Hendra virus in a serum sample at biologically-relevant levels. Presently no Hendra virus point-of-care test is commercially available. In order to achieve early detection, the biosensor directly targets the virus particles, identifying their presence from the beginning of an infection. Microfluidics allows the safe confinement of the biological material in a chip that can be destroyed or decontaminated. The factors affecting the flow in the microfluidic chip, the reaction between the particles and the collection of the fluorescence signal are studied and optimised in order to maximise the sensitivity of the biosensor, which could become a point-of-care biosensor for Hendra virus.
