Identification and Determination of Selenium Compounds in Samples of Environmental Importance
註釋The method involves the use of an HPLC instrument coupled to spectrometric detectors such as graphite-furnace atomic absorption spectrometer (GFAAS), flame atomic absorption spectrometer (FAAS) and inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). The element-specific detectors are superior to conventional devices such as conductivity detectors in that: the separation procedure is simple because only selenium is monitored; the signals for selenium are largely unaffected by other compounds not containing selenium; and the detection limits are significantly lower. FAAS is based on a continuous operation mode and is therefore particularly suitable for element-specific detection, the detection limit being 10-20 ng Se absolute.
