The Relationship Between General Health Perception and Acute Care Consumption in Chronically Ill Patients Admitted to a Community-based Case Management Program
註釋Sister Callista Roy's Adaptation Model served as the guiding theoretical framework for this study. The Medical Outcomes Study (MOS) 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) was used to measure patients' general health perception. Acute care charge data was collected three fiscal years prior to completion of the SF-36. The investigators concluded that there was a difference between groups of people with high and low acute care charges and high and low general health perception. This study supported previous studies that general health perception is not dependent on the number or type of chronic illnesses.
