註釋The protagonist, Mark Stoner, a journalist, receives a summons from a mysterious, secret court where he is informed that he is the subject of a criminal investigation.When he asks about the charges, he is told that the nature of his offenses are under seal and cannot be revealed because of national security issues.When he inquires about retaining legal representation, he is advised that that if he hires a lawyer who does not have a Top Secret clearance, the lawyer will receive the same punishment that he does.Facing this dilemma, Mark Stoner, sets out to clear his name by forming relationships with female officers of the court in order to gain more information. This leads him to the realization that this court will resort violence, intimidation and deception to secure its ends.
