Soldier Boy and the Rural Fundamentalists
註釋Soldier Boy and the Rural Fundamentalists was completed as part of the author's role as the inaugural writer-in-residence at the Historic Hydro Hotel in her hometown of Leeton in New South Wales. Developed by Sarah herself, the program has involved living at the iconic Art Deco hotel in the heart of the town, over one hundred years old and a place of stories, mysteries and ghosts, at times in splendid isolation during Covid lockdown. The Hydro's links with the town's literary past have given the program a rich resonancy - the historic associations with Henry Lawson, Jim Grahame and Dame Mary Gilmore are a strong foundation to build on. Acknowledgements to Leeton Shire Council, Historic Hydro Management and Western Riverina Arts for their support in establishing the residency and the Historic Hydro Writers Collective - as well as the completion of this book.
