Describes how Lutheran theology, later developed by Goethe in "Faust", influenced Nazi ideology and created a basis for belief in Satan as the in Satan as the ruler of the earth. Faustian Lutheranism was the most extreme expression of the gnostic trend of thought which was opposed to Judaism and its belief in the reign of God. Hitler was the embodiment of Faust-Mephisto. The ideology that he and the German people espoused required that they offer up a sacrifice to their all-powerful ruler, and the Jews were the sacrifice.
