The Art of Lucy May Stanton
註釋Born in Atlanta, Lucy May Stanton enjoyed a successful career as a professional artist until her death in 1931 at the age of fifty-five. She created works in oil, pastel, and watercolor, but was best known as a painter of miniatures during the revival of the art form that took place in the United States after 1890. This catalogue is a product of the first major exhibition of the artist's work since 1932, held at the Georgia Museum of Art from May through July 2002. Over fifty works are illustrated in the catalogue, including miniature portraits on ivory, drawings, and oil paintings from public and private collections.
