註釋
This study was designed to determine if there was a significant positive correlation between the relative exposure of nurses to antineoplastic agents and the amount of mutagenicity in their urine using the Ames Salmonella/microsome mutagenesis assay. Also urine mutagenicity of nurses using protective measures was compared to those nurses who did not us protective measures to determine if there were any significant differences between them. Urine collections and questionnaires were completed for 40 individuals, 10 each from four sampling groups - patients receiving antineoplastic agents, nurses caring for cancer patients, nurses reconstituting antineoplastic agents while using protective measures and nurses reconstituting antineoplastic agents without using protective measures. The urine samples that were tested did not reveal significant mutagentic activity. In addition there were no significant relationships between urine mutagenicity and any of the variables measured in the study.
