Variations in Small Group and Individual Performance
註釋This study, using an extended model of a pair-group study by Goldman (unpublished), compares the performance of individuals who initially had problems correct and incorrect with that of three-person groups and five-person groups composed of members who initially had specific combinatioins of correct and incorrect items on the same intellectual tast. Performance of the pair-groups in Goldman's study and the groups of three and groups of five in this study was also compared. The groups of three and five operated more efficiently than the individuals under a majority of conditions and operated significantly worse under no condition. Groups of three under most conditions offered the optimum level of performance. Areas for further research are described.
