註釋
Expert findings on tourism potentials, tourism planning and urban development, implementation of adequate economic measures and an appropriate institutional framework - in the tourism sector, as well as in different levels of government - are prerequisites for an efficient tourism strategy of a town. The fundamental idea of the project is a pilot research unfolding a wide range of selected topics and issues considered by the authors as most relevant for successful development of urban tourism in Ljubljana. The basic framework of tourism development in Slovenia is presented in the first chapter. It is followed by a critical analysis of past tourism development in Ljubljana, together with an outline of possibilities for the future. The third chapter brings an evaluation of tourism potentials in the inner city and surrounding area of Ljubljana. The inseparability of urban planning and tourism (tourism as a city-making activity and urban planning as a precondition for tourism development in the city) is emhasised in the third chapter. This chapter also discuss the critical problem of new locations for accomondation facilities in Ljubljana. In tourism planning - especially when speaking of urban tourism - attention should be given to the needs, desires and the quality of life of local inhabitants, thus an extensive survey research among local population and tourists in Ljubljana was conducted. The findings (strenghts, weaknesses, suggestions) on inner city environment are presented in the fourth chapter, along with recommendation for improvements. The chapter which follows is devoted to marketing as one of the prerequisites for successful development of tourism. The last chapter brings relevant findings of the project along with recommendations, guidelines and proposals of measures for the future, which will establish a stimulative environment fordevelopment of tourism.
