The Mystery of the Macclesfield Chalice
註釋A study into the origin of the Snelson Coat of Arms, being Argent a scythe, the blade in chief sinister Sable. These Arms were claimed by Roger Snelson (1576-1647), a dyer of London, born in Macclesfield in Cheshire, discovered in an engraving on a chalice donated to the local church in the 1600s. These connections intrigued the author resulting in a dogged detective hunt. The discovery of hand drawings in King's Vale Royal at the back of Ormerod's History of the County Palatine of Cheshire at the Mitchell Library in Sydney, Australia changed everything.
