On the edge of a dried out lake, a small community of humans are struggling to survive. When the benefactors, 'robots' to some, arrive, they know their time is up. One young woman has a secret, however, that will change everything, forever.

This is the final story in the Post-Anthropocene anthology. If you haven't had an opportunity to read any of the earlier stories then I suggest you hold up and wait till you can, before reading this. That being said, this is a stand alone story, and perhaps there's something to be said for reading out of order.
