註釋This report critically evaluates existing methods of ecological risk assessment (ERA); recommends appropriate ecological risk assessment approaches for the National Contaminated Sites Remediation Program (NCSRP); and develops an NCSRP guidance document providing a comprehensive framework for consistent ecological risk assessment. Information was obtained through a literature search, discussions with researchers in the field and with government officials, and attendance at risk assessment sessions of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. The report discusses the identification of the problem, exposure assessment, receptor characterization, hazard assessment, risk characterization, and application of tiered ERA under NCSRP.
