註釋The folio volume consists of lectures and lecture notes written by Graham from 1831 to 1847. The recto pages are lectures, with the running title, "Science of Life," which later became, with changes and additions, the first chapters of Graham's book, Lectures on the Science of Human Life (N.Y.: Fowler & Wells, 1839). These lectures were written in 1831 and describe human anatomy and physiology. The verso pages are lectures and notes written from 1832 to 1847, dealing with various aspects of physiology and diet. They include many excerpts copied from newspapers and journals and some pasted-in newspaper clippings. Also included are many copies of letters from Graham's followers. Near the end of the volume the running title on the recto pages disappears and both recto and verso pages contain miscellaneous lecture notes.
