註釋This volume is the second in a series devoted to the study of the decorative arts around the world from the the late fifteenth century to the early twentieth century. Each volume focuses on five of the major ornamental motifs of the era and their application in all genres, including architecture, painting, sculpture, interior decoration and furniture. The five motifs discussed in this volume are the auricular style, acanthus, arabesque, chinoiserie and the rocaille.
